Meet The Team

Andrea Gregg

 Executive Director

Andrea has over twelve years of comprehensive nonprofit management within the healthcare and public health sector. She leads an award winning organization focusing on health care workforce development, health equity, and public health policy. Through her work Andrea values thriving partnerships and seeks innovative opportunities that further enhance the mission of High Sierra AHEC.  Recognized for a high motivation level, the ability to promote and exemplify leadership, and for making significant contributions within the community, Andrea looks forward to many more years scaling up an organization whose mission she deeply values. In her free time, she loves spending time with her husband, Anthony, 5 year old son, Hudson, and 2 year old daughter Hadley. As a family they live for adventure, love the outdoors, and value life’s lesson along the way.  

Dana Roscom, MSW 

Program Director

Dana Roscom is High Sierra AHEC's Program Director. She is approaching her second year with High Sierra AHEC, and can honestly say she loves her job! She graduated in 2011 at the University of Nevada, Reno with her bachelors degree in Community Health Sciences and obtained her Master of Social Work degree with the University of Southern California in 2018. In her current position, She is able to infuse her passion of public health and social work together. She provides oversight to all of the awesome programs and amazing staff. She enjoys the program/project development process and collaborating with other organizations and key stakeholders. In her free time she likes to spend quality time with her husband and daughter.

Amanda Aragon

Workforce Development Coordinator

Amanda Aragon is the Workforce Development Coordinator at High Sierra AHEC. she graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2019 with a bachelors degree in Community Health Science. With this role, she coordinates and maintain sustainability in the pipeline programs starting with the K-12 initiatives, Student Ambassador Program, Nevada AHEC Scholars Program, and ending with touch points at the professional level. She loves being able to see the impact of AHEC's programming on the community. She recently found a new passion for health education and healthcare access for underserved and rural communities. She is happy to be entering her second year with AHEC and is looking forward to seeing where this new role takes her! During her free time, she likes to spend time outdoors, find cute new places to eat, and watch The Office.

Taylor Stokes

Operations Coordinator

Taylor Stokes is the new Operations Coordinator here at High Sierra AHEC. He helps to oversee the daily operations and maintenance of the AHEC office and offer support to all of the team members. Before being brought on as an AHEC staff member in July, he interned here for his final semester of his undergrad. Since then, he has graduated with a bachelor''s of science in community health sciences from the University of Nevada, Reno. He is passionate about health education and programming, and is currently pursuing his master’s degree in public health. He could not be more excited to work with a team and organization that align so well with his educational and personal goals. When he's not in the office or studying for school, he likes to catch up on his favorite shows and spend time with his partner and two cats.

Nicholas Dunkle

Special Projects Coordinator

Nicholas Dunkle is the new Special Projects Coordinator at High Sierra AHEC. He is a recent UNR graduate with a Community Health Sciences degree and a Psychology minor. He is excited to continue to further High Sierra AHEC’s mission through community connection, health equity advocacy, and education. Each of these topics is important to him as a new public health professional and are reasons why he is so passionate about the field of public health. Outside of the field, he is very family oriented, enjoy playing soccer, and loves JDM cars and modification. He is happy and proud to represent High Sierra AHEC!

Nicole Gaarenstroom

Disease Control Specialist

Nicole is our new Disease Control Specialist at High Sierra AHEC. She graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno in 2019 with a Bachelors in Public Health and has experience in various health industries, including healthcare compliance, disease investigation, and emergency response, at both the local and federal level. She is passionate about providing equitable health prevention services and patient advocacy. In her free time, she loves hiking around beautiful Lake Tahoe, reading a good book, and baking!
