Jay Cafferata is a recognized speaker and expert on diversity and the SGM and disability communities, with a master’s degree in communication with a focus on healthcare communication, a degree in Deaf Studies, and credentials as a Certified Diversity Executive. With over 30 years of experience in adult education, Jay has been deeply involved in legislative efforts, advocating for protections for the disability and Sexual and Gender Minority (SGM) communities for the last four decades.

 

Jay brings a wealth of experience as an educator, trainer, and presenter, having worked with a diverse array of organizations including educational institutions, private companies, government agencies, non-profits, and professional associations. His expertise covers a vast educational landscape, from early intervention (ages 0-3) to elementary, middle, high school, and university-level adult education. Jay's core specialization focuses on healthcare providers, SGM issues, disability, and parenting education.

 

Jay brings a robust skill set to his work, including:

  • Program Development and Management: A proven track record in conceptualizing, executing, and managing educational programs to achieve desired outcomes.

Over his career, Jay has trained more than 8,000 healthcare professionals. In multiple Nevada legislative sessions, he has testified and contributed to the development of key legislation and regulatory statutes affecting the SGM and disability communities.
