With over 17 years of experience building and leading mission driven initiatives, I am a passionate nonprofit executive dedicated to strengthening community health through education, equity, and innovation. As CEO of High Sierra AHEC, I strategically lead my team to expand access to quality healthcare across our state, cultivate the next generation of health professionals, and remove systemic barriers through culturally responsive outreach, strategic partnerships, policy, fund procurement, and fostering collaboration and efficiency within the workforce development ecosystem.
My journey began in the culturally diverse and geographically rural landscape of New Mexico, where values of community and equity were ingrained early on. These values, along with personal experiences navigating trauma and addiction, fuel my commitment to advocacy, mentorship, and transformational systems change. I believe deeply in the power of education as a pathway to personal and community growth. That belief has shaped my career from supporting school readiness with Early Head Start and developing wellness programs for the Girl Scouts of Sierra Nevada to owning and operating a small business, a women centered gym where I empowered local women to transform their lives through fitness and personal development coaching.
Since joining High Sierra AHEC in 2008, I have been instrumental in developing and expanding programs that now serve thousands of students, emerging health professionals, and practicing professionals annually. As CEO since 2016, I have led the organization through significant growth more than doubling annual operations while diversifying our funding portfolio through grants, earned income, and strategic partnerships. I have also strengthened board relations and secured critical funding to support ongoing program expansion and ensure long term organizational sustainability across our statewide network.
I am passionate about working collaboratively to break down silos and build infrastructure, partnerships, and shared resources that allow mission driven organizations to thrive. I am proud to be recognized as a collaborative thought leader, trusted mentor, and advocate for emerging nonprofits. My work at the state and national levels includes policy engagement, workforce development, and amplifying best practices across networks.
When I am not leading initiatives or building partnerships, I am usually outdoors snowboarding, skiing, or enjoying Tahoe’s beaches with my husband Anthony and our two kids Hudson and Hadley. I am an avid exerciser and love to camp which keeps me grounded and energized. We stay connected to our community and embrace life’s adventures with curiosity, gratitude, and joy.
