Community Health Advocate

Kylie Phillips
Hi, I'm Kylie, the Substance Use Disorder Community Health Advocate at High Sierra AHEC. I’m originally from Northern California and moved to Reno to pursue my education at the University of Nevada. I earned my bachelor's degree in Psychology in 2023 and am currently continuing my academic journey by working toward a master's degree in Social Work.
I’m deeply passionate about my role in raising awareness and providing education around substance use, and I’m committed to making a positive impact in the communities we serve.
Before joining High Sierra, I gained valuable experience working with adolescents and teenagers as both a Teacher's Assistant and an Activity Coordinator at an inpatient residential facility. I also had the opportunity to work in a hospital setting, which provided me with a unique perspective on healthcare.
These previous experiences have equipped me with the skills and insight necessary to thrive in this new role Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors—whether it’s hiking, relaxing at the beach, or simply exploring new places with my dog. Nature gives me a sense of clarity and balance, and my dog is the perfect companion for every adventure.
