I am the Rural Community Health Worker at High Sierra AHEC. I am originally from Michoacan, Mexico but eventually moved to Memphis, Tennessee when I was 3. There, I attended Christian Brothers University and graduated with a Bachelor’s in English Education.
I started as an English teacher, focusing on ELLs (English Language Learners). Eventually, I transitioned out of the classroom and began working with non-profits. This was a new way to help underserved communities, something that always brought joy to my heart.
I started a new adventure with High Sierra AHEC in Reno, Nevada in 2025 where I am excited to help with health education and outreach initiatives.
I am also fluent in Spanish and enjoy helping those in need of interpretation services. In my spare time, I enjoy reading with my son and watching documentaries about social activism.
