About the event

High Sierra Area Health Education Center and the Larson Institute will present at the Nevada Minority Health and Equity Coalition's Impact Summit on November 15th in Las Vegas on "Using Cultural Humility to Build Workforce Capacity). This presentation explores the strategies and benefits of fostering cultural humility and implementing culturally responsive initiatives for our diverse Nevada workforce. Key strategies include comprehensive training programs, promoting open and respectful communication, and developing policies that support equity and inclusion.


We will address common challenges such as resistance to change and provide solutions for overcoming interpersonal and systemic barriers. The presentation underscores the role of leadership in driving culturally responsive practices, emphasizing the need for continuous assessment and adaptation of strategies. This session aims to share best practices in public health concerning representation, equity, inclusion, and accessibility.
