High Sierra AHEC Awards Scholarships Through Nevada Health Workforce Pipeline Grant

High Sierra AHEC is proud to announce that it has been awarded funding through the Nevada Health Workforce Pipeline, a state initiative aimed at strengthening and supporting the future of Nevada’s healthcare system. Through this vital funding, we are able to offer tuition support to both undergraduate and graduate students pursuing careers in health professions.

For the upcoming Fall 2025 semester, we have awarded 13 scholarships to students studying in a variety of health fields, including pre-med, pre-nursing, nursing, public health, and medical school. These scholarships help alleviate the financial burden for students committed to improving community health and advancing Nevada’s healthcare workforce.

This round of scholarships would not have been possible without the dedicated review committee, who volunteered their time and expertise to thoughtfully evaluate each application.  A message to the review committee:

"We at High Sierra AHEC could not have accomplished this without you. Your willingness to contribute your time and expertise makes a real difference, and we are grateful to have you as partners in this important work.”

The impact of these awards can be seen through the heartfelt messages from the students themselves:

“Thank you so much for this incredible news and for selecting me as a recipient of the ARPA Scholarship. I am truly honored and grateful for this generous award, which will make a meaningful difference in supporting my journey through nursing school.”

“I am truly honored and grateful to be awarded this generous $2,500 scholarship. This support will significantly aid my academic journey at the University of Nevada, Reno, and further motivate me to continue working hard and pursuing my goals in public health and medicine.”

“Thank you so much. It means a lot to me, and it will help me to relieve stress about my finances.”

“Thank you so much! This will greatly contribute to my medical education!”

High Sierra AHEC remains committed to supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals across the state. With continued investment in education and opportunity, we are building a healthier Nevada—one student at a time.
